Excellence Isn't an Accident

I found my new favorite phrase: Excellence isn’t an accident. 

When I googled it, I found the origin.  

“Excellence is never an accident. It is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, and intelligent execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives - choice, not chance, determines your destiny.”

     ― Aristotle

Powerful stuff. 

When I look at the quote by Aristotle, the word “choice” stands out for me most. 

We CHOOSE to be disciplined. To be organized. 

We CHOOSE to move on after setbacks. And to view these things as learning opportunities. 

WE CHOOSE our attitude. 

We CHOOSE not to make excuses. 

Bottom line: excellence doesn’t happen by chance or luck. It’s a result of the choices we routinely make.
