We came across an interesting survey on pre-workout usage and adverse effects.
A total of 872 people successfully completed the survey; about 73% were male and 27% were female.
The three most popular goals for taking pre-workout were increased energy and focus, muscular endurance, and blood flow or "pump.”
Now here’s where things get interesting…
Importantly, over half (54%) of the respondents reported experiencing side-effects following pre-workout use, including skin reactions, heart abnormalities, and nausea. Females were more likely than males to experience these side effects, despite being less likely to consume two or more serving sizes per dose.
So, the message here is this: choose your pre-workout wisely.
