Typically, when I hear the word “hack,” I roll my eyes. In my opinion, few shortcuts trump hard work.
But there are a few mindset hacks that can help you change your perspective if you’re struggling to do so.
- Repeat the same positive sentence over and over until it becomes your belief. You can also think of this as a mantra—have it on your bathroom mirror, your dashboard, your computer, etc. Repeat, repeat, repeat!
- Embrace what you can control. Look at your situation and take stock of what you can and cannot control. Let go of what you can’t and double down on what you can.
- Don‘t dwell on failure. We all have failures - don’t look back, you’re not going that way.
- Acknowledge what you’ve already achieved. If you need a boost, reflect back on how far you’ve come.
- Decide what you want to believe. Your beliefs become your reality.
- Recreate a time in your head when you felt unstoppable! Envision a time when you were absolutely crushing it and don’t leave out any details. Channel that past moment into the present to give you confidence and motivation.
As you’ve probably noticed, it comes down to inner dialogue. So, choose a technique above that resonates with you, squash the negative thoughts and move forward with a fresh, new, positive mindset.
